The National School of

Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics

8 – 12 June 2026 | Ischia (NA)

The National School of Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics (BiO&B) is an Italian initiative aimed at creating a platform for training, discussion, and scientific exchange among young researchers working in the fields of biosensors and photonics.

BiO&B is a biennial event organized by the Biosensors Working Group of the Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF), the Italian branch of the European Optical Society (EOS).

In 2026, the Sixth National School of Optical Biosensors and Biophotonics (BiO&B 2026) will take place on the charming island of Ischia (NA) in June.

This immersive school experience delves into the realm of biosensors, showcasing the latest breakthroughs in bioreceptors and cutting-edge immobilization techniques. Additionally, it highlights innovative optical methods that harness photon–biological matter interactions, with applications in biomedicine, agri-food, and environmental sciences.

The school is designed for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career fellows from universities, research institutions, and private companies. We welcome up to 35 participants to join us on this enriching journey.
